Big Bear City airport is southern
California mountain getaway. A 2+ hour drive is shortened to less than a 45
minute hop. (And much quicker coming home!). Yes, it is a high density airport and
a checkout by an instructor is highly recommended the 1st time. Make a note of
where the fuel mixture is set prior to landing. This will come in handy prior to
departing. One can fly in and eat at the Barnstorm Cafe though you probably want to grab a
car and head into town. A short 10 minute drive gets you to "The Village". Park
and walk around. Head down to the marina. Leave your worries behind. |
