Oceano airport
is located on the beautiful central coast, halfway between Los
Angeles and San Francisco. One can walk right to the beach and enjoy
swimming, quad riding, horseback riding, etc. A slice of paradise.
A huge selection of hotels and resorts to fit any budget. The
resorts gets fancier as you head north to Pismo and Shell beaches
(2-3 miles). One can also camp at the airport or on the beach. With
over 1500 acres of sand dunes, this is the only stretch of beach in
California where one can drive on.
Keep a close
eye on the clouds. This field can become IFR very quickly. May want
to consider making SBP (San Luis Obispo) your base if being stuck on
the ground affects your timetable. |
